Bard College has announced that Congressman John Lewis will be the commencement speaker on the Northern Dutchess campus in May.
Lewis, a major voice of the civil rights movement, will also receive an honorary doctorate of civil law from Bard College. Lewis has served in Congress from Georgia’s Fifth District since 1986.
The college will confer 435 undergraduate degrees on the Class of 2017 and 141 graduate degrees. The commencement ceremony is scheduled for Saturday May 27th.
