Big Lottery Win For Poughkeepsie Couple

It is the largest-ever lottery scratch-off ticket cash prize in New York State history.

A husband and wife from the Town of Poughkeepsie today picked up their $10,000,000.00 ceremonial check from Lottery Spokeswoman Yolanda Vega.  The lucky winners are James and Sylvia Silverence.  James bought the winning ticket at the Stewart’s Shop on Vassar Road.

The Silverences say they will use the money to help out their family and they each will get a special gift for themselves.  Sylvia will buy some bigger diamonds while James will buy a new truck.  The winning ticket was a $30.00 Fiftieth Anniversary Ten Million Dollar Cash scratch-off.
