Today is the longest day of the year.
The Summer solstice is the day where the sun stays out for the longest in the Northern Hemisphere, it arrived at 12:24 this morning.
To mark the arrival of summer a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of the “Summer of Love" will be taking place in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park tonight. Many people are expected to dress as hippies to relive a summer of music and psychedelics.
