Dutchess County residents who go solar will save on county sales taxes starting in March of next year.
County Executive Marc Molinaro signed into law a resolution passed by the Dutchess County Legislature last week to exempt residential solar energy from county sales taxes. Sales and use of residential solar energy, equipment and installation services, as well as the sale of electricity generated by the equipment will be exempt from the county sales tax.
