Steely Dan Co-Founder Dies

(Annandale, NY) -- The music world continues to mourn Walter Becker, the New York City-born co-founder of Steely Dan, who is dead at the age of 67. 

Becker partnered with band co-founder Donald Fagen on such Steely Dan hits as "Reelin' In the Years," "Deacon Blues" and "Rikki Don't Lose That Number." Becker and Fagen, who he met at Bard College in Dutchess County 50 years ago, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Fagen wrote in a tribute today that Becker was "smart as a whip, an excellent guitarist and a great songwriter.
