City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating a fatal stabbing yesterday evening on Smith Street.
Police say just before 6pm the victim was a passenger in a car when a group of teenagers walked in front of the vehicle. Words were exchanged and as the passenger was getting out of the car one of the teens ran up to him and stabbed him in the chest. The 42 year old man later died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
