Walgreens-RiteAid Buyout Gets Approval

Walgreens is getting the go-ahead to buy 19-hundred Rite Aid stores for nearly four and a-half billion dollars including several in the Hudson Valley.

Federal regulators shot down an earlier deal when Walgreens tried to buy Rite Aid and nearly 46-hundred of its stores for nearly nine and a-half billion dollars. The FTC's approval means Walgreens can begin store purchases next month with the deal being completed by next spring.
