A Cliff Hanger In The Town Of Poughkeepsie

It is an extremely close race for Town of Poughkeepsie Supervisor.

Incumbent Republican Jay Baisley leads Democratic Challenger Michael Treybich by just thirty-seven votes.  According to unofficial numbers from the Dutchess County Board of Elections Baisley leads Treybich 4,364 to 4,327.  Paper ballots will likely play a role in this political contest.

In some of the other Supervisor races Incumbent Democrat Aileen Rohr defeats Republican challenger Bill Truitt 52.6% to 47.2% in Hyde Park.  In Wappinger Democrat Richard Thurston is victorious over incumbent Republican Lori Jiava 58% to 41%.  In Ulster County Al Lanzetta is re-elected in Marlboro, Richard Parate wins in Marbletown, Paul Hansut is re-elected in the Town of Lloyd, and Neil Bettez wins in New Paltz.  In the Town of Hurley just 2 votes separate Tracy Kellogg and John Perry.
