Home Invasion In Poughkeepsie


(Poughkeepsie, NY)  --  He thought he was getting a visit from a woman for sex, but instead a Poughkeepsie resident was shot at during a home invasion and robbery attempt.

Multiple shots were fired early yesterday morning on Carroll Street in Poughkeepsie.  Responding officers stopped an SUV fleeing the area and the driver was detained.  Police say when they searched the vehicle of 22 year old Michael Fazio of Modena they found a live 9mm round inside along with several unloaded ammunition magazines and an empty box of 9mm ammunition.  Fazio is facing several charges.

According to City of Poughkeepsie Police: “the victims gave the following story; One of the victims had made arrangements to meet a female for sex. When the female arrived, two other subjects wearing masks were with her, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The masked subjects attempted to rob the one victim, when he resisted the subject with the handgun fired two rounds. A friend of this victim came out to help a struggle ensued. At least one more shot was fired during the struggle.

The victims were able to get the handgun away from the suspect. The suspects fled in a dark colored SUV driven by FAZIO. A 9mm handgun was recovered at the victims house. “
