Limo In Fatal Crash Had Just Failed An Inspection

(New York, NY) -- Governor Andrew Cuomo says the crash that killed 20 people in upstate New York involved a driver that wasn't properly licensed. Speaking at the Columbus Day Parade, Cuomo added the limo failed inspection last month and shouldn't have been on the road.

Four sisters and their friends had been celebrating a birthday, prior to the horrific crash in Schoharie on Saturday afternoon. All 17 passengers and the driver of the limo died as did two pedestrians.

The Albany Times Union reports that the owner of the limousine is former FBI Informant Shahed Hussain who in 2009 implicated four Newburgh men in a terror plot involving targeting Riverdale Jewish Center in New York City.

The NTSB says it will take days to go through evidence and reconstruct the crash site to determine what went wrong.
