Flu Season Is Here

(Albany, NY)  --  New Yorkers are being urged to get a flu shot as the flu season is now underway.

Last year during flu season in New York State, over 23-thousand people were hospitalized and six children died. Governor Andrew Cuomo says getting a flu shot still is the best way to stay healthy. Last January, the Governor signed an emergency executive order allowing pharmacists to administer flu vaccines to children aged two-to-18-years old. Flu season generally begins in October and runs through May.
