Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is Elected To Congress



(New York, NY) -- New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is preparing to become the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.

Ocasio-Cortez turned 29 last month and defeated Republican Anthony Pappas to win her seat. The previous youngest woman was also a New Yorker, Representative Elise Stefanik who took her seat when she was 30 in 2014. She enters Congress as one of the most liberal members having previously been an organizer on Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.
