(New York, NY) -- Gasoline prices are continuing their upward trend. The nationwide average price per gallon of regular jumped nine-cents to two-dollars-85-cents, the highest level in three years. According to GasBuddy prices at the pumps in Poughkeepsie range from $2.79 to $2.89 for a gallon of regular.
The current gas price is 37-cents higher than it was a year ago. However, the price spike may be coming to an end. The higher oil prices are already mostly built into the pump price and the shift to higher-cost summer grade gasoline is almost complete.
