(Thornwood, NY) -- A police officer is being called a hero for tackling a coyote who'd bitten a little girl at a Westchester playground.
News 4 NY says Arcangelo Liberatore, who was off-duty at the time, sprang into action yesterday afternoon at Thornwood's Carroll Park when he saw the five-year-old screaming and her mother trying to kick a coyote away from her daughter.
When police arrived, they shot and killed the animal. Natalia Petrellese her mom and the hero off-duty cop were all given rabies shots. The coyote is being tested for rabies.
