(Albany, NY) -- At their annual convention in Albany, The New York City police union is today honoring late NYPD officer Steven McDonald.
PBA President Pat Lynch is presenting McDonald's wife and son with the organization's 2018 Person of the Year award. For several years Officer McDonald brought his message of non-violence to many schools in Dutchess and Ulster counties.
McDonald, a revered NYPD detective who forgave a teenager after being shot and paralyzed in 1986, passed away last year. His son Conor is currently an NYPD Sergeant.
