Fall Officially Begins Tomorrow

(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- Fall officially starts tomorrow.

The autumnal equinox happens at 9:54 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Saturday, September 22nd, marking the end of summer.

The equinox happens when the sun is directly in line with the equator giving both the Northern and Southern hemispheres an equal amount of daylight. Days will begin to grow shorter in the Northern Hemisphere until the winter solstice in December.

The change in seasons brings cooler temperatures and the annual display of fall colors across the Hudson Valley.
