(Poughkeepsie, NY) -- A report of a student with two guns in the area of Poughkeepsie High School this morning brought a big police response. City of Poughkeepsie Police responded just before 9am.
The High School and Middle School were immediately placed in lockout.
Interviews of students were conducted at the schools. The grounds in and around the schools were checked by officers and they did not find any guns The schools and school grounds were given the all clear and the safety of students and staff was confirmed.
Meanwhile, City of Poughkeepsie Police on Tuesday investigated a report of a Poughkeepsie Middle School student possessing a weapon on school grounds during an after-school program. The police Patrol Division and Detective Bureau investigated and conducted several interviews along with school officials finding no credible threat to anyone in the school.
