Ski Season Begins Tomorrow In New York

(Albany, NY) -- It's officially ski season in New York State starting tomorrow.

Governor Cuomo announced that Belleayre Gore and Whiteface Mountains will be opening for the season. All three resorts started their snow-making operations last weekend and have been making snow around the clock preparing for the opening. Belleayre says, “The mountain will be open with intermediate terrain only with Gondola lift access. The lift will be spinning from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. We will close Monday thru Thursday and reopen Friday, in full swing for the 18-19 season.”

Tomorrow is also opening day at the privately owned Hunter Mountain in the Catskills. In addition, there are over 50 world-class ski resorts across the state that attract millions of visitors each year.
