(Queens, NY) -- Another big Amtrak problem, this time on the busiest travel day of the year.
A train was headed from the Big Apple to Boston yesterday morning but it got stuck in Queens. It stayed parked in the borough for nearly six hours. Officials say an issue with overhead wiring is to blame for the delay. Passengers say it was a miserable experience with toilets nearly overflowing in the restrooms. Amtrak says it provided food and water to people on board. The train eventually arrived last night, about five-and-a-half-hours behind schedule.
It was just last week that an Amtrak train decoupled in Columbia County stranding 287 passengers in the dark and cold for two hours.
