(Kinderhook, NY) -- In Washington DC as the nation celebrates the life of former President George HW Bush, the Hudson Valley Is also celebrating the life of a former President.
In Columbia County there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of former President Martin Van Buren. Today marks the 236th Anniversary of the birth of the President known as Old Kinderhook. The Ceremony takes place at 11am at Kinderhook Cemetary on Route 2. Brigadier General John Andonie, the Chief of Staff of the New York National Guard plans to participate in the ceremony.
