(Albany, NY) -- The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Dutchess and Ulster counties and much of the Mid-Hudson from late tonight through late Friday night.
The Weather Service says periods of moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected and rainfall amounts will range from an inch to two and a half inches. Localized higher rainfall amounts are possible in the higher terrain, especially in the Catskills. The Weather Service says these rainfall amounts, could result in localized urban and small stream flooding.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding and residents living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should high water conditions develop.
