(New York, NY) -- A sweeping gun control bill expected to pass in Albany this week would ban teachers from carrying guns.
Other legislation includes expanding the timeline for background checks on gun purchases from three days to 30 days. Supporters say that allows family members and law enforcement to petition a judge to take away guns from people they believe pose an extreme risk to themselves or others.
Another measure bans the possession and sale of bump stocks and 3D printer guns.
