(New York, NY) ) -- American retailers are celebrating a good holiday shopping season. MasterCard says shoppers spent three-point-four percent more from November 1st through Christmas. That number does not include auto sales. The industry with the biggest increase was electronics and appliances, which saw a four-point-six percent increase. MasterCard also reported more Americans are comfortable doing their shopping online, saying there was a 19 percent increase in cyber sales as compared to 2018.
