Announcing the 2025 Bardavon Gala featuring 5-time Grammy-winning artist SAMARA JOY on Sunday, April 27th, 2025 at 7:30pm at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House!
Few figures in jazz history have experienced the kind of success that vocalist Samara Joy has, especially at such a young age. Still only 25, she leads a career that can safely be called sensational.
To date, Samara Joy has received five Grammy Awards, including one for Best New Artist that has given the committed jazz singer the profile of a pop celebrity and made her a steady presence on network TV. With millions of likes on TikTok, Joy has helped new, young generations of music fans discover timeless American music. Her performance credits read like a list of the most legendary venues and events in all of jazz and R&B, among them the Newport, Monterey and Montreal Jazz Festivals, the Apollo Theater, the Village Vanguard and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Samara Joy will be performing at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie, New York as part of Bardavon Presents’ annual gala. Funds raised by the Bardavon Gala help underwrite programs that cannot sustain themselves – including Bardavon Presents’ educational programs and artist residencies that help bring arts and culture to schools throughout Dutchess and Ulster County.
A pre-gala cocktail party will be held at Poughkeepsie’s event venue Keepsake at The Academy, a five-minute walk from the theater beginning at 5:00pm. The cocktail party will feature local wine & spirits tastings to accompany the expertly curated menu of signature bites from a Bardavon favorite, Hudson Valley based caterer.
