Last Call For The Circus

(New York, NY) -- The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus is returning to New York City for the last time.

The circus began in Brooklyn in 1871 and delighted audiences for decades with The Flying Wallendas, Gargantua the Great and the Ballet of the Elephants. "Out of this World" is the name of the show now at the Barclays Center for 15 performances.

It marks the end of an era, marred by controversies that include animal rights activists suing over the mishandling of the elephants. Once the elephants were gone, ticket sales plummeted and now the circus is ending its run for good. The curtain falls for good in May.
