Two Ellenville Police officers were injured as they helped evacuate residents from apartments on fire early this morning.
At about 2:20am Officers Morse and Young responded to a fire at the Emerald Pond Estates on Route 209. They began waking residents and kicking in doors to get to the residents. The two officers were treated and released at Ellenville Hospital. Building D suffered heavy damage from the fire; there were no other injuries. 27 people have been left homeless by the blaze.
