(Albany, NY) -- New York's attorney general says there was a record number of data breaches that came into his office last year.
Eric Schneiderman points out that the 13-hundred reported hacks is a 60 percent jump in breaches compared to the previous year. Those breaches exposed personal records of more than one and a half million New Yorkers.
Schneiderman says hacking is increasingly prevalent and it is all the more important for companies and individuals to use caution sharing data.
