Lock your car doors.
That is the advice from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department as they investigate a recent pattern of thefts from parked motor vehicles. They say the thefts are occurring in residential areas usually during overnight hours.
Recent thefts have been reported on Dutchess Turnpike, Overocker Road, DeGarmo Road, Taft Avenue, Marple Road, and North Grand Avenue.
“Anyone who observes suspicious persons or vehicles, should get a description and direction of travel, and immediately call the Town of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-485-3666. Tips may also be left by calling the police department or submitting information at www.townpolice.net.”
