Poughkeepsie's Bus System Is Running Out Of Money

The Poughkeepsie Bus System is running out of money at the end of June.

Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison says the city’s budget has no funds allocated for the buses beginning in July.  A proposal to merge Poughkeepsie’s bus system into Dutchess County’s Transit services stalled in the Common Council.

According to the city’s website the City of Poughkeepsie Transit System provides “affordable, regularly scheduled mass transportation service for city residents and visitors. Each day, six city buses travel over 650 miles and provide transportation for 1,200 citizens.”
