(New York, NY) -- New York State is getting ready for driverless cars.
Lawmakers passed a bill yesterday allowing tests and demonstrations of autonomous cars beginning next year. But, don't expect to see self-driving cars rule New York roadways anytime soon. State law, going back decades, requires drivers to keep one hand on the wheel at all times and that part of the law hasn't been updated.
