Poughkeepsie Bus System Could Get Audited

At the Poughkeepsie Transportation Strategy Committee meeting last night the members voted unanimously to recommend that the Poughkeepsie Common Council request an audit of the Poughkeepsie Bus System.

Members believe the bus system’s finances are not as dire as portrayed.  If approved, the Council will reach out to the State Comptroller’s office requesting an audit.

Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison has said that funding for the buses will run out at the end of June. He has recommended that the city bus system merge with the Dutchess County Transit services.
