The Free college tuition plan just passed by the state legislature is a bad idea.
That is the view of Dutchess County Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor who says the cost of tuition is being shifted to families who are over the income limit for the program. He says the increased demand that will come with free tuition is sure to drive up the cost of tuition for other students.
Assemblyman Lalor voted against the state budget plan.
