(Goshen, NY) -- The Poughkeepsie woman accused of killing her fiance during a kayak trip on the Hudson River is due back in court today.
Angelika Graswald faces murder and manslaughter charges in the April 2015 drowning death of her fiancé, Vincent Viafore. Her trial was due to begin last month, but was delayed since her lawyers wanted the results of a psychiatric evaluation. The 36-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty, but prosecutors say Graswald admitted on videotape to pulling the plug on Viafore's kayak and pushing the 46-year-old Poughkeepsie man's paddle away.
Viafore's boat capsized, he drowned and his body turned up days later following a massive search. Her lawyer argues the confession was coerced.
