(Red Hook, NY) -- A woman is dead after being hit by a bulldozer in Dutchess County. State Police in Rhinebeck say 44 year old Susan Coons was killed yesterday by an 18-ton field bulldozer at a Red Hook work site on Albany Post Road.
“The victim was transported by Northern Dutchess Paramedics to Northern Dutchess Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. State Police were assisted by the Village of Red Hook Police Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.”
Police say Coons is from Elizaville in Columbia County and was hired by Jeff Decker and Son Incorporated to level a field. The investigation is ongoing.
