(Poughkeepsie, New York) -- Last month was the warmest April in the history of record keeping in Poughkeepsie.
The National Weather Service says at an average temperature of 53 degrees, April 2017 ties April 2010 as the warmest April ever in Poughkeepsie. The normal average temperature for April is 48.7 degrees.
According to the weather agency, mild nights were a big contributor to the above normal monthly average temperature. April also recorded several daytime temperatures in the eighties.
