Nearly two years after the murder of Shameik Floyd, a former Poughkeepsie man is facing 1st Degree Murder charges.
City of Poughkeepsie Police Detectives arrested 23 year old Kaheem Cummings and charged him with Murder, Robbery and Criminal Possession Of A Weapon in connection with the case. The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Department of Corrections Office of Special Investigations Criminal Intelligence Division were also involved in the investigation.
It was back on June 30, 2015 that Floyd was found dead on Mansion Street with a single gunshot wound to the head. “The investigation into this murder is continuing, anyone with information on this murder is asked to call the City of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-451-7577.”
