(New York, NY) -- Commuter chaos appears to be the new normal at Penn Station. Amtrak signal problems caused major delays again last night.
A New York State Assembly committee is holding a public hearing today on Amtrak's renovation plans for Penn Station. The hearing will focus on whether Amtrak has adequate contingency plans in place to minimize potential track closures, delays and train cancellations. Track work is expected to begin later this month and continue through the fall.
