(Albany, NY) -- A top state court is upholding strict DWI policies.
Yesterday, the NY Court of Appeals said the DMV can permanently revoke the licenses for repeated DWI offenses. The Cuomo administration in 2012 put policies in place to permanently ban drivers from the road for five or more DWI convictions in their life or three convictions in four years.
The governor said this ruling will help prevent avoidable tragedies and protect New Yorkers.
