Drowning Man Saved From Frigid Pond

(Southeast, NY) -- State Police are being credited with saving a drowning man in Putnam County.

Police say the Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Association had reported the man as missing in Southeast yesterday and he was found by police face down in a pond. Troopers jumped into the frigid water, pulled the 40-year-old man out and performed first aid before sending him to the hospital.

The police thanked a surveyor who spotted the victim near Route 22 and quickly flagged down police.
