(New York, NY) -- The NYPD says while there's no specific terror threat to New York City, they're tightening security following that deadly bombing at a concert in Manchester, England.
Heavy weapons teams are being deployed to high profile locations across the city, including airports, bridges, tunnels, mass transit locations and Times Square. They've also assigned vapor wake explosive detection dogs and highly-trained counterterrorism officers and say they may impose random backpack checks at various sites.
Security was also beefed up at last night's Yankees game and at the British Consulate.
