Amtrak Is Reducing Train Service In New York

(New York, NY) -- Amtrak says it's going to reduce train service out of Penn Station this summer from July 10th through September 1st. Repairs will be routine when three tracks at a time will be closed for seven weeks starting in July.

Preliminary plans show this will happen during extensive repair work at Penn that's expected to inconvenience thousands of rail commuters. Northeast Regional Service will be cut in half between New York City and Washington during the week, and no changes are planned on Acela Express.
