More than thirty people were displaced after a fire Saturday afternoon on East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
The 3pm fire also heavily damaged several businesses including the Rice & Beans Deli. No injuries were reported as several fire departments fought the blaze for more than four hours. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents with temporary housing and supplying personal care items.
It will be another tough rebuilding project ahead for Wappingers Falls. It was in November of 2012 that the historic Goring Hall building collapsed in Wappingers Falls, shutting down the business district during the holiday season.
