Woodstock Festival Site Gets Historic Designation

(Albany, NY) -- The site of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival is now officially a nationally recognized historic place.

Yesterday Governor Cuomo announced the Bethel site was put on the national and state register of historic places. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts now sits at the Sullivan County site where nearly half a million people gathered in 1969 for one of the most influential musical events in American history.
