During last week’s Buckle up campaign more than 1,500 seat-belt citations were issued by Troop F State Police in Ulster, Orange, Sullivan, Greene and Rockland counties.
Of those, 228 were for child restraint citations. During the campaign State Police added to regular patrols with special seat-belt and child safety seat details, in addition to conducting safety restraint checkpoints.
Meanwhile, this week State Police are cracking down on speeders and aggressive drivers. Speed Week continues through Tuesday and is being enforced with marked and unmarked cars.
