We are in the middle of what is being called one of the worst tick seasons in years.
Doctor Richard Ostfeld with the Cary Institute in Millbrook is among the researchers leading an intense ground battle in Dutchess County. They're studying mice and chipmunk populations, which can help track where tick numbers will increase. There is an effort underway to get the federal government to fund more tick prevention programs.
