Most Don't Know They Have Prediabetes

(Atlanta, GA) -- The CDC says more than 100-million Americans are living with diabetes or prediabetes.

Its new report, released today, shows that while 30-million Americans have diabetes, another 80-million Americans have prediabetes. Most don't know it and the CDC says that's a serious issue since prediabetes, if left untreated, often leads to full-blown disease in five years.

Diabetes can lead to amputations, vision loss, heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. It can be managed through diet, exercise and medicine to control blood sugar levels.
