Fatal Five-Car Pileup On Interstate-84

(Southeast, NY) -- A Connecticut man is dead and several people are injured after a five-car pileup on Interstate 84.

State Police from East Fishkill say it happened Monday afternoon on the westbound side of the highway near I-684 in Southeast.  State Police say 64-year-old Nancy Scott didn't notice that traffic had slowed down and struck a car in front of her, causing a chain-reaction crash. One of the vehicles involved was a tractor-trailer.

65 year old David Patton of Danbury died of his injuries yesterday. None of the other injuries are said to be life-threatening.
