(Goshen, NY) -- The Orange County DA is explaining how a plea deal was reached in the case of the so-called kayak killer.
Angelika Graswald Monday pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in her fiance's death on the Hudson River two years ago. After previously claiming her innocence, the Poughkeepsie woman now admits she pulled the plug from Vincent Viafore's kayak.
But the DA says that isn't enough to prove Graswald intended to purposely kill Viafore. He says there were other contributing factors that lead to Viafore's death, like the poor weather and the fact that he wasn't wearing a life jacket.
