(Albany, NY) -- Police in New York may soon be able to find out if someone was texting while driving.
Yesterday, Governor Cuomo ordered the Traffic Safety Committee to work with legal experts to study technology known as the textalyzer. The textalyzer is a tool that law enforcement could use to plug in a driver's phone to see the exact time drivers texted or opened an app.
Cuomo said the study will determine if this software could be used to protect the safety of New Yorkers while respecting their privacy.
