(Albany, NY) -- Officials in New York are warning about a tick that can make you allergic to meat.
"Newsday" reported that hundreds in New York have contracted the alphagal allergy from lone star tick bites, which can cause severe allergic reactions after eating meat. The lone star tick can be identified by a white splotch on its back.
Most of the cases have been on Long Island, but there have also been cases upstate.
